A Very Important Asset - Health Insurance
As I talk to people, or even watch television, which often heard that the cost of health insurance is too expensive, or can not afford insurance. I look at it another way, can afford to not have health insurance?
If you become seriously ill with a disease like cancer or heart disease, how do you pay for the cost of care?
health insurance premiums could be considered expensive, but compared to what? Is it the cost of treatment or when compared with other types of insurance? It is always difficult to find that one. With life insurance premiums are relatively low, because you will only have a claim. Unfortunately, it is the assurance that we are sure to need. I have auto insurance and homeowners, but rarely have filed claims. I guess I'm lucky there. You can not predict what our health will change over the years. Sometimes you're just unlucky.
I read an article about a man in Washington, DC. He said he had no health insurance because they never see a doctor and he did not need. I found it interesting that I've always wondered why your car insurance does not pay for oil changes or belt or alternator, but Medicare pays for the maintenance of your body.
Returning to the gentlemen in the Washington area. My grandfather was a doctor. He treated me until 1992 when he died. I have not seen a doctor since, but I maintained my health insurance. I am, however, that the catastrophic insurance. You see I'm not worried about 100 million visits to the doctor, or even $ 2,000 MRI. I am concerned about the $ 100,000 heart surgery or cancer treatment, if God forbid I need it. So you see health insurance to protect your assets to maintain your body. This will help keep your premiums down and not pay for services you can or can not use.
